<p>My search started shortly before my wedding, my goal was to lose at least 15 to 20 pounds before my wedding day. I started with Insanity, almost died, and then migrated to P90X. I tried to endure but how great was my pain. I decided to get a gym membership where I can go daily and engage in different kinds of fitness activities.</p>

<p>A friend of mine talked of a gym, which she considers “a one stop” for all kinds of fitness activities, sports, amenities and even programs established to help people. I became interested. I came to understand that you get all these services with a single inexpensive membership fee.</p>
<p>My search was over. I decided to follow my friend to the one spot gym; to my greatest surprise I found that all the fitness activities in the one stop gym was free. I love anything free, so I decided to do all the free classes at the gym. Within a month of my membership, I engaged in the following classes: personal training, Pilates, spinning, studio classes, tennis lessons, water classes, and yoga classes just to mention a few. These classes made me get in shape and stay in shape. From my experience, I came up with the following tips on how to identify a one spot gym.</p>
<h2>Tips on how to identity a one stop gym</h2>
<ul>
<li><strong>Location</strong>: One of the most important things that gives me motivation to constantly go to the gym is the distances to the gym. Most “one stop” gyms are located in strategic locations, close to everything and everyone in that area.</li>
<li><strong>Membership and Quality</strong>: Most gyms have high fees for members and yet the gym does not provide all the services needed. One stop gyms have considerate fees and provide all the activities, it’s like a mall, where you can do all your shopping and go home satisfied. You can have all your fitness activities in a one-stop gym and go home looking fit.</li>
<li><strong>Facility Cleanliness</strong>: Most “one stop” gyms are huge and because their goal is to give the best satisfaction to their customers, the gyms are properly taken care of. The various amenities like locker rooms, cardio rooms, massage/skin care and day cares are kept perfectly clean.</li>
<li><strong>Equipment Maintenanc</strong>e: There is nothing as terrible as going to the gym and finding out that most of the equipment is not working. But in a “one stop” gyms, the equipment are well maintained and in good working condition.</li>
<li><strong>Professional, and friendly staff</strong>:  Knowing how important their members are to the success of their gym, “one stop” gym staff members are the most friendly, well behaved gym staff you can even come across in any gym. They help you with your goals and struggles by providing all you need to achieve that.</li>
<li><strong>Full size gym with all of the following</strong>:  Most “one stop” gyms have the following facilities and many more: Tennis, Squash, Racquetball, Handball, Swimming, Basketball, and Power cycle camp.</li>
</ul>
<h2>General Concerns</h2>
<p>A lot of people worry about gyms, the cost, the drive or walk to the location, that fact that the gym is packed and too many people might be watching them, they rather work out in a secluded environment like their home. That was exactly the way I felt, when I embarked on my journey to lose weight for my wedding. I started at home, but was just not getting anywhere until my friend introduced me to a “one stop” gym.</p>
<p>I realized that working out in a gym works. Gyms in different states like Utah, Idaho, California</p>
<p>etc. provide those services. I remembered attending one of the<a href="http://www.sportsmallgroup.com/" target="_blank"> gyms in Holiday</a>, Utah with my friend and I couldn&#8217;t help but notice how great my improvement was. Within three months of working in a “one stop gym”, I lost 15 pound and was able to fit in my beautiful wedding dress. <p>A Problem That Can No Longer Be Ignored</p>
<p>Recently, some shocking evidence has been uncovered to suggest that domestic violence against men is occurring at an alarming rate.</p>
<ul>
<li>More than <a href="http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2010/sep/05/men-victims-domestic-violence" target="_blank">40% of domestic violence victims</a> are male</li>
<li><a href="http://domesticviolencestatistics.org/men-the-overlooked-victims-of-domestic-violence/">63% of males</a> as opposed to 15% of females had a deadly weapon used against them in a fight with an intimate partner</li>
<li>Most shelters available will only take women and children, and some even have an age limit on the boys that they will take in (13 years old)</li>
<li>According to the U.S. Department of Justice, between 1998 and 2002, males were 83% of spouse murderers and 75% of dating partner murderers</li>
<li>Every year in the U.S., about <a href="http://www.clarkprosecutor.org/html/domviol/men.htm">3.2 million men are the victims</a> of an assault by an intimate partner</li>
<li>Many men are too embarrassed to admit that they are being abused</li>
</ul>
<p>Additionally, domestic violence isn’t limited to physical assault. It also includes a pattern of manipulative or controlling behavior perpetrated by one partner, onto another partner. Has your girlfriend ever blocked an exit to prevent you from leaving during an argument? Has she ever threatened to kill herself if you left her? Is she so possessive that doesn’t let you spend time with your friends and family without her? Does she ever say that you will never find anyone better than her, and that nobody else would ever date you? If the answer to any of these questions is “yes” then you are being psychologically abused by your partner and should seek help immediately.</p>

<p><strong> How Can You Tell if a Woman Is Abusive? </strong></p>
<p>There is no way to absolutely know if the person you’re dating will wind up abusing you. But there are some recommended precautions you should always take when you first start dating someone.</p>
<p><strong>1) Run a Criminal Background Check</strong></p>
<p>Domestic abusers tend to be “repeat offenders”. If you’re dating a new girl, or meeting up with someone you found on an online dating site, it’s always a good idea to run a <a href="http://www.instantcheckmate.com/glossary/background-check" target="_blank">criminal background check</a> on the person before things get serious. If the person has prior arrests and convictions for “assault and battery”, “criminal harassment”, or “stalking”, that is a huge red flag. Restraining orders aren’t a good sign either.</p>
<p><strong>2) Pay Close Attention to Details About Her Former Boyfriends </strong></p>
<p>Talking about each other’s exes is never fun, but sometimes it’s necessary. If she drops a bomb like “Oh, my ex fiance and I used to go there all the time” but refuses to elaborate, this could be a sign that the relationship ended badly and it may have been because of her. Ask if she is still friends with any of her exes. If she responds with something like “That guy would NEVER talk to me again.” That should concern you.</p>
<p><strong> 3) Learn From Her Friends</strong></p>
<p>First of all, does she have friends? Most emotionally healthy adults who have been living in the same city for longer than a year have a group of friends. If it’s early on in the relationship and she is always available to hang out and never seems to have her own people to do stuff with, that is a bad sign. This could mean that she latches onto whatever man she is dating at the time which could indicate controlling behavior later on down the road.</p>
<p>Domestic violence and abuse can be a two-way street. The simplest way to prevent it is by learning the signs to look out for, and stopping it before it starts.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>To fail during an exercise is a honorable thing.  However, true exercise failure is very rarely achieved.   Exercise failure occurs when you cannot complete a movement due to total neuromuscular and psychological fatigue.  Picture yourself petering out on a set of push-ups and barely moving to complete the last rep.   If offered a large financial incentive or threatened by physical harm, could you do 1 more rep?  How about 2 more if I had a gun to your head?  The mind controls the body.  If the carrot or the stick is big enough you&#8217;d be surprised what you could do (not fly like Superman, but maybe lift a car off a child).</p>
<p>A major goal of resistance training is to engage and tire as many muscle fibers as possible. After one light warm-up set of bicep curls you will be lucky to engage 50% of the muscle within your arm.  Increasing the load, rep range, intensity and such will magnify the amount of fatigued muscle yet still not approach 100% involvement. Perhaps the most proficient way to fatigue the greatest number of muscle fibers is to work to &#8216;failure&#8217;.  This is where your level of commitment is leveraged.  Are you willing or do you want to endure great muscular pain to achieve your goal?  How important is this exercise goal?  Do you have the proper amount of concentration and willingness to work extremely hard?  This brings me to a more important question: is it even advisable to workout to 100% volitional and physical effort?  I can say, without hesitation, no.  Ever see those news stories where some octogenarian lifts a 1 ton tractor off her son?  It may be done, but after effects on the body are astoundingly widespread; joint dislocation, burst blood vessels, torn ligaments and tendons, heart attack and more.  Let&#8217;s say you are not lifting tractors but are working to &#8216;failure&#8217; every time you go to the gym the stress to your body&#8217;s systems would be too great and likely decrease your training effects as you&#8217;d begin to see symptoms of overtraining.  The no pain, no gain dogma is an antiquated doctrine and has hurt many people in the gym.  Training outside one&#8217;s comfort zone with occasional scheduled bouts of discomfort will likely produce safe and more efficient results.</p>
<p>Learning to push your own limits can be very helpful when breaking through plateaus and stagnation.  In order to achieve the greatest benefit from one&#8217;s workout it is critical to combine the psyche and the soma.   Far too many people workout with their mind somewhere else.  Yes, it is better than nothing, so long they don&#8217;t get injured due to inattention.  If watching TV or talking on your phone while exercising helps you maintain a consistent workout regimen, so be it.  Workouts like these will never produce a great athlete or lithe body.  Establishing greatness takes a magnitude of physical perseverance  and physiological grit. With a little more focus on one&#8217;s workouts you can produce greater results in less time and optimize mindfulness skills. Research has shown that regular exercise increases cognitive functions and brain power.  Einstein was fond of saying &#8220;if you can imagine it, you can create it&#8221;.  I&#8217;m pretty sure he wasn&#8217;t talking about squeaking in an extra rep at the gym but it still applies.</p>
<p>Tips to help you fail:</p>
<ol>
<li>Visualize the exercise before you do it</li>
<li>Have a friend or trainer spot you</li>
<li>Use music for motivation</li>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This has been the burning question in everyone’s minds.  While alcohol has been known to have many ill effects on the human body, recent studies have shown that it may also have an advantage when it comes to curing your rheumatoid arthritis.  According to experts, it will not only help treat it but also help in the prevention of the disease as a whole.</p>
<p>The study that proves these benefits were conducted by a group of researchers led by Gerry Wilson, a professor at the University of Sheffield’s.  How was this study conducted?  They did this by following the steps below.</p>
<p>First, the team of expert researchers surveyed a group of arthritis patients specifically 873 people.  They mixed this class of people with another control group of about 1004 people.  Mainly, these respondents were asked about the frequency of their alcohol consumption in a month.</p>
<p>After grouping these people, they were asked to complete a questionnaire.  Subsequently, they underwent a series of blood tests as well as X-rays.  Their joints were also examined as part of the survey.</p>
<p>Through these tests, it was ultimately revealed that the patients who consumed alcohol on a much more regular basis had been found to be possessing less symptoms than those who did not consumed alcohol regularly in terms of severity.</p>
<p>The same results go for those who did not drink alcohol at all.  In addition to this, the X-rays also showed that the regular alcohol drinkers among the respondents have lesser joint damage than those who do not drink regularly.</p>

<p>Here are some more of the discovered results that led to the above findings.</p>

<li>Minimized inflammation of the joints in other parts of the body</li>
<li>Reduced disability</li>
<li>Reduced pain</li>

<p>Of various animals were also used as test subjects for the study.  This yielded the same favorable results.  However, it is the first time that these results were yielded using a human subject.  In addition to this, the same results were gathered in both genders.  The findings remain constant despite having different conditions of the disease mainly:</p>

<li>Negative Citrullinated Peptide</li>
</ul>
<p>So far, only speculations had been realized with regards the connection between the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and the consumption of alcohol.  No evidence have been found yet regarding alcohol’s abilities to reduce the symptoms.</p>
<p>However, some experts say that perhaps because alcohol suppresses the immune system, it would be safe to say that it can also affect the factors that help develop rheumatoid arthritis in the first place.  Furthermore, according to the studies, alcohol can also serve as painkillers for those who already have arthritis.</p>
<p>Further scrutiny has proven that there is also a loophole in this study.  Experts have noted that in the report, the quantity of alcohol consumption was not mentioned.  In connection to this, only the frequency of the respondents’ alcohol consumption has been noted.</p>
<p>Because of this, there is still a need for further investigation with regards the medical benefits of drinking alcohol especially when it comes to rheumatoid arthritis.  The doctors still advice to take in everything in moderation just like they have been doing in the past years.</p>
